President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Ibrahim Kpotun Idris, an Assistant Inspector General of police, from Niger State, as the new acting Inspector General, the News Agency of Nigeria has reported.
Mr. Idris was before his new appointment the AIG in charge of operations at the force headquarters, Abuja.
Mr. Idris’ appointment follows the retirement of Solomon Arase as he clocks the compulsory retirement age of 60.
Mr. Idris was invited ealrier today to the State house and recieved by President Buhari in the company of the outgoing Inspector General of Police.
