Yemi Alade caused a frenzy with the release of her sophomore album titled “Mama Africa: The Diary of an African Woman”, coupled with the music video for “Ferrari”.
The Effyzzie Music diva received praise for both the music video and album from its continental appeal and solid theme.
The music video for “Ferrari” gained 40,000 views in the first day while the album soars of iTunes Charts across the globe. “Mama Africa” topped the iTunes Nigeria Albums and iTunes Africa World Albums charts ; while internationally it appeared on #13 on the iTunes France Albums char t, #22 on the iTunes Germany Albums chart and #4 on the iTunes World Albums chart . The album also appeared on numerous iTunes Charts across the globe and has reportedly sold over 20,000 physical copies in 48 hours across Nigeria.
Yemi Alade who will give 10 percent of album sales proceeds to charity via the#FeedAChild initiative thanked her fans for the support and urged music lovers to buy the LP and join the cause to feed unprivileged children across Africa. The LP which serves as the follow-up to the acclaimed “King Of Queens” ; is available in digital and physical stores globally.
