South African Police Launch A Manhunt For Suspect Who Raped An Elderly Woman

The South African Police Service in Lulekani outside Phalaborwa have launched a massive manhunt for the suspect who broke into the house of an elderly woman and raped her.

It is alleged that the elderly woman of around 90 years old was raped while sleeping in her house, on 2018-09-30. The suspect intruded into the house, threatened her and subsequently raped her before he fled the scene.

The victim informed her daughter and the police were summoned, reacted immediately and the manhunt operation ensued.

The suspect is still unknown at this stage.

 The police are here by making a call to all members of the community to take care of elderly especially women, as they are being targeted in such incidents.
The elderly people must at all times be looked after to avoid and prevent perpetrators taking advantage of their vulnerability.
