A total of eighteen individuals were shortlisted for the awards.
Other high level individuals who won the awards are Uloma Rochas Nwosu, Queen Adebukola Ojo and Bill and Melinda Gates foundation.
Commenting on her own award, Majome said she was caught unaware by the accolade.
“I am surprised to be honoured with an African Virtuous Woman Award for contribution in Africa I understand is for my political work as a parliamentarian,” said Majome.
“I wonder where the organisers heard about all the way form Abuja and the UK. Thank you AWA! I was unable to travel to Abuja to receive it. It was an honour and a privilege to serve.”
She added, “Congratulations too to my compatriot Madame Ellen Chiwenga for her top accolade.”
