Sometimes, I wonder who people think I am, A therapist, An Advocate etc…Whatever you have in your head as long as it’s on the positive, it is good for me.

Today, we will finish up Joju’s story and I must say, this part is rigorous, I didn’t want to write at first, on the other hand, I knew it would make no sense if ardent community members like you, won’t be carried along in the story, I must allow you know everything.

Joju and the Kiosk women started planning a bounce back strategy on this Monster and I advised them that we seek the face of the Police but it was a wrong pullout. The police embarrassed us and even went to tell the Culprit that we were coming for him it was one of the most frightening times of my life. We had the Kiosk burnt down by the Boys of that man and the Police too… Don’t be too shocked!

We had to run away from the community and good enough, we called some women advocacy groups, we knew. Thank God for them. They were the ones that helped us in getting through to the right quarters. We took the case to the court and got the man summoned. The foolish man didn’t want to show up at first but thank for the Upright and no nonsense Judge that was Lord over the case, we got him summoned with immediate alacrity and guess what happened when we got to the court? His wife showed up! He has a wife you would say, Yes! He does and you wouldn’t believe that she has been waiting for a time like this. She has been waiting for a time when this monster will be kept in his place!

She ran to me and introduced herself ‘‘Hello, Madam, My name is Nneka, his wife but we are getting divorced soonest so I can take my son.” What? I said, so, you are his wife? Yes, she said, I left him in the midnight, In fact, the way I escaped, I couldn’t explain it, he has been like that for a while now. He finds pleasure in torturing women during Sex. Wow! I was dazed and at the same time dumbfounded. She continued, My son is 6 and we were married for 7years, I left last year and went into hiding but I kept the gateman there to please watch over my son and help him against those evil things his father does, he is a child and he shouldn’t be contaminated.

At last, I found my voice, What about his family members?  ”Those ones, they pretend not to see what he is doing, in fact they have been trying to reach me because of this case, They want me to testify for him and I will not do that”

Wow! What a life! Do you think this man needs help? I asked her. He doesn’t, He needs death and a very big portion of torture! she said. What kind of man is this? you will say, but really we don’t  know. He wanted to deny everything until we got the footage and showed the world what he has been doing. The judge was so appalled that it took courage not to leave his seat and slap him and the policemen that wanted to kill us, they were properly dealt with.

Where is Olabunmi by the way, ohh… we took her to a centre where she is been examined and having good therapy. That experience is traumatic but she is recuperating.

He was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment but his wife still wanted him to face something worse including Joju.
