Welcome to the rant column

Hey people of the rant community. I wish you all a wonderful week ahead.

Straight to the rant of the day/moment. A friend of mine called me some days back to break a very sad news to me about her friend who got raped by a man. This friend is a banker in the marketing department, who went to market her bank to a prospective client.

The man scheduled a meeting in his house and there, he raped her. According to the victim, he asked her to have sex with him so he can bank with them but she declined respectfully. She tried to make him see that the service he needs is from the bank and not from her as a person even though she represents the bank. She is not a prostitute. Then, he forcefully had his way with her. It didn’t end there.

She reported to her boss and guess what she was told, the client made a mistake and so, she should forget and just let it go after all, he has invested in the bank. Which means, there is no need for a report or an arrest. Jeeeeez! How inhumane can the society be. This younglady is devastated. Why would that case not be reported?

Why would she throw it under the carpet just because an investment was made and so the animal is working free with no ropes on his tail. That’s annoying and evil.

Invariably, they mean, the dignity of a woman means nothing. After all, he didn’t cut her he only raped her, in the words of another senior colleague and to add salt to the injury, guess what they did. She got promoted. The price for silence!

What do I think, I think the man and her bosses should be lynched. They should be killed by hanging. How would you make a such a prediction over something has huge, emotionally traumatising incident as rape? How?A lot of women are faced with this and are asked to keep quiet just because it’s not a ‘big deal’. They will all end up in hell from earth till eternity!

  1. This is such a bad and sad incident. I don’t even know how to talk to the lady. Though, I think she should report the case.

  2. Tah! Don’t take that promotion and report. In fact, that’s an evidence. If you are in Lagos, go to the gender platform and report this. Rape is punishable!

  3. I’m just really vexed right now. What rubbish?! Idiots! So they paid her for getting raped. Idiots! They will be punished. That company will suffer curses. Mtsew!

  4. What an unfortunate incident. I feel sorry for the lady because she is going to be hunted unless she makes a hard effort to get over it.
