By Grace Shaibu

Welcome to the rant column

Bus Conductor : Enter with your change o

Passenger : Please, I don’t have 100naira, I have 90 naira

Bus Conductor : Come down! Get down. If you no get 100naira. get out. {leave if you don’t have the exact t-fare}

Passenger : Calm down. Please na, Na only 10naira.

Bus Conductor : Ehn! Go and meet your grandfather

{The passenger leaves even as other passengers try pleading with the conductor} Then a good samaritan agrees to pay the fare of the passenger.

Another Scenario

Bus Conductor : Enter with your change o. There is no change.

Passenger : Give me my 10naira balance

Bus conductor : Hold na. No be only 10naira?

Passenger : ehn? Give me my balance

Bus conductor : Cool down now.

Passenger : {Screams} I won’t cool down because you people cannot leave your money but expects others to leave their balance for you. Very selfish people.

Have you ever experienced this?

It can be very annoying when they cannot let go of their cash and want you to let go of yours. It just doesn’t add up.

    The thing is they will have your balance with them but will tell you no change. I know how to treat them I use to keep half their money with me in case there is no change, then I go with their money. No time to check time. #lifeofalagosian#

    This makes you wonder if #10 have more value in some part of Nigeria than it does everywhere. I’ve seen them practically delay everyone in the bus just for #20 change
