Welcome to the rant column.

I am sure the statement above isn’t new to Lagosians especially when you board public buses. There’s always no change, that’s no balance for your money if you give or intending to give the bus conductor a higher denomination than the normal transport fare.

Please, these guys always forget that a businessman treats his clients well and tries to make sure things are very comfortable. No way! Not on this side, they are doing us a favour by driving us to our destination.

So, you must meet the criteria. If the transport fare is 200 naira, there’s no change for 500 or 1000. Infact, give him 1000naira and you will listen to the blues of your life that R.kelly refused to sing for you.

They are always change deficient. They suffer it. No matter the time of the day, there’s always no change. And I am wondering if they sell the money or keep it in their lungs to avoid spending it? You don’t only board the bus but also make sure you have the specific amount of money before getting on the bus. My sister! This Lagos ehn? Na Wa!

  1. Na serious wa ooooo, still had a heated conversation with the driver and bus conductor on this change wahala this morning.

  2. Yes ooooooo. They are just like Ibadan people, they never have change. When you want to buy something from them they will ask “shey changi wa”? That word pisses me off. If as their life depends on the change, even when they have they will keep it. Wicked folks!

  3. Lagos bus drivers and conductors sometimes act like feral animals, and I sure know how to kick their ass. When they tell me there’s no change I give them half payment even when I have the complete money.

  4. Lagos na wa oooooooo. Lmao, they usually don’t have change hence they can go with your change but they can never spare you their one kobo.

  5. You are very correct my dear. They never have change, and some bus drivers will even abscond with your money, and if you can’t bear it you will start cursing due to frustration. Lagos na wa!

  6. Hahahahahaha. You know what I hate the most? A conductor giving me and another passenger money to share. Kayaaa! What if the person is going to Kafanchan, and I, Limpopo? Very annoying.

  7. Enter with your change o. Lool. Lagos is just Lagos. The funniest thing is,they will have the change and refuse to give it out.

  8. lol. I just experienced this on my way to work now and I asked the foolish conductor before entering he didn’t say a word.
