Widespread jubilation and rallies among residents of Bauchi State over the return of President Muhammadu Buhari to Nigeria after 103 days on medical vacation to the United Kingdom continued.

Bauchi is known for its die-in-the-wool support for Buhari and gave the President the second highest number of votes after highly populated Kano State in the 2015 Presidential election.

One of the organisers of the rallies, Annas Yakubu, popularly known as Annas Black, told Daily Sun that the youths had slaughtered two camels as a sacrifice to God for Buhari’s return.

The youths, in their thousands, wore T-shirts and caps of the President and the Governor of the state, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar.

They sang songs of “Baba Oyoyo” ‘Baba Oyoyo” and gathered in front of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium, Bauchi.

From the stadium they trooped out to the streets in Wunti, Bakaro, Ahmadu Bello Way in the state capital to celebrate, singing and dancing out of excitement.

Brandishing brooms which is the symbol of the All Progressives Congress, APC, they were on vehicles, Keke NAPEP and motorcycles while others trekked, chanting ‘Sai Baba.’

Leader of the jubilant supporters, Annas Yakubu, popularly known as Annas Black, who is the Secretary of  Bauchi State Youths Leaders for Buhari, also known as “Vote and Protect your vote for Buhari” , explained to Daily Sun that they counted it a blessing to  take to the streets to rejoice over the president’s return from his medical vacation.

Speaking with our correspondent in Hausa, he said: “First, We gathered here today to show the president and the world how much Bauchi people love Buhari and will continue to support him.

“Secondly, we are praying that God will grant him total heal to continue to be a nemesis to looters and thieves of our national treasury who are destroying our country with their greed.

‘Thirdly, to let the world know that Buhari’s love is in our DNA. We are not rooting for him because someone is sponsoring us. We are supporting him as volunteers and anytime he is doing anything we will support 100 per cent because of the love we have for him.”
