The Kiosk With Madame K – Not My Man {Part 2}

By Grace Shaibu

Madame K!

Madame K!!

Madame K!!!.

I heard my name from the junction of the house and guess who was running and screaming my name? Omotola herself. I was worried and ran out leaving my ‘kiosk people’.

‘Motola, what is it? I asked her. she just kept saying my name, Madame K, Madame K. Okay, I said. Calm down. Come into the kiosk, sit and take water to calm you down.  She obliged and my fellow kiosk people already had a pale look, everyone was dead worried about her. What happened again? What did ‘Motola discover this time…

Anyway! You will know, but first, let me welcome you to My kiosk. You are welcome.

So, back to the subject matter. Í asked ‘Motola Calmly what the problem was and she just kept looking into the thin air. ‘Motola, You just have to say something I said, please what is the problem? Finally, ‘Motola answered me with tears in her eyes. ‘Madame K, I can’t marry him again. I want him off., the woman is 7months gone. She is pregnant!”.  Ahhhh! the women in the kiosk screamed and as usual comments started flying round the kiosk. ”I will kill him, I can’t take that, He will see fire”. I hushed the kiosk and there was complete decorum.

‘Motola, I said. What did you discover and how did you discover it? Madame K, I went to the house like you said last wednesday and sat my husband up in the midnight and asked him what went wrong? You won’t imagine the excuse he gave, He said, I have been away with work, kids and my extended family. I don’t look out for him anymore. Even when he tries reaching out to me, I just do not see the signs and I didn’t even let him come close to having sex with me.

Why didn’t he shout it? why didn’t he communicate better. I mean, if I don’t do that, they will say I am not a good wife. What have I done to deserve it? He now went to find solace in another woman and got her pregnant. It just doesn’t click, he wanted to cheat and he got a flimpsy excuse for it? Is sex food ehn? is it?

‘Motola, are you through? I asked her. Yes, she said. Okay, let me answer your last question. As a married woman apart from the physical food you give your husband, my dear, Sex, good sex is also a part of the food you give your man. It’s their wiring you can’t take it from them.

Then, the second part, My dear, you have to watch the back of your husband first before anything else. The women started grumbling. Will you people just listen to me? I yelled at them.  He’s the first person before kids and family. He comes first!

Okay! Let me shock you. ‘Motola, go home. Wipe your tears, tell your husband that you will have the baby after the woman has given birth. Look him in the face and tell him that you want to speak with this woman. You will not leave the house for her.

Ah! Madame K! They all screamed.

Anyway, I have said my own. ‘Motola stood still looking at me.

I am sure she’s wondering if I meant it, I do mean it. You worked and you shouldn’t allow anyone reap your harvest. It’s a mistake yeah? Take an eraser and wipe it off. It it has marks, cement it!

You see now? will she now throw years of love away because of this? Men are born cheats o. Women just have to try to manage them. I think the Madame K is right, she should have the baby and speak to that strange woman without tears.

Wow. This is serious but really, this isn’t enough for him to break the vows. He should stick with her or have spoken to someone close to her to help her.

Oh my days! This is so emotional. But really, madame K is on point. Take that baby and don’t take the woman except the man says otherwise.

I am really enjoying this. I can wait to see the husband’s countenance if she eventually tells him what Madame K said to her.

Hmmm. Madam K knows what she’s talking about. It’s hard o. But what would she do? But then why are men like this? If a woman cheats, the woman leaves the house. If a man cheats, the woman still leaves the house. I just taya! I love this piece. Definitely keeps you reading and waiting for the next episode. Kudos to the writer!
