Happy new week folks. So, I told people to send me something they would love to rant about, those inner rants in them that they just haven’t had the opportunity to get them off their hearts and guess what? I got loads of topics. As I searched through the topics a particular topic caught my attention.

Women face an uphill battle to fight for their rights under illiberal regimes. Kacper Pempel/Reuters

This is what I call the unnecessary ‘white’ treatment. Have you been on a queue perhaps at the cinemas and then you just see an expatriate walk in, walks straight up to the desk and he gets attended to immediately?

Yeah, there is a way Nigerians treat white people and it can be very annoying. It’s okay to be hospitable but not in a derogatory manner. No way! If a white man is given a preferential treatment just because of his skin, then what makes you different? That’s inhouse racism.what the heck is that?

The special ‘because- he-is white-man’ thing which lots of people do is appalling, there is no special treatment when you go abroad so what’s with the treatment in here.

These people don’t even call for the attention but some people who have totally lost the confidence in their skin have taken it all off because they want to impress. You don’t impress a foreigner by breaking the rules for him, You only show how backward your society is so, Get things right!

  1. The most annoying thing is that this act has gotten to the church. A pastor of a church once called the white man and his wife to specially welcome them during service. I was so furious.
“What about other first timers?” I questioned within me.

  2. I can’t say I’ve directly experienced this before doh but I know most Nigerian companies will anytime choose to give contracts to white guys over our own guys despite how exorbitant the prizes they might charge. There’s a whole level of growing up we all need around here

  3. Nice one dear at least those who worship white people all in the name of skin would know that its a negative evil, not a positive one. #sighs#

  4. I wish everyone could learn from me on how to treat white people. I am that person who doesn’t even like white people at all, meeeehn I can’t even stand their skin. Guess what I call them? Albinos, and i don’t care whether they are Americans, bristish or what have you. All I care is that they can’t. Come to my own
country and start feeling cool cuz they ain’t.

  5. I just can’t stop laughing when I read what you wrote @ ebonychyqui2. I can be like that too you know? I remembered how I treated some white girls at lekki conservation centre the last time I was there. Almost all the blacks wanted to take a photograph with the white chicks. But trust me, Nigerian girl with high self esteem “I no even see the”. At the end of the day the whites were all over me because they noticed I didn’t run to them like hen chasing after corn.
