A young Maun woman, Portia Sam-Hwera, who has been selected to represent Botswana at Mrs World pageant in South Korea says she is going to use the platform to market Botswana.
Mrs World, she said, would be a unique pageant where married women from around the world contest and share roles of married women, goals, challenges.
Sam-Hwera, the reigning Miss Commonwealth International 2014/15, said she would promote Botswana tourism and culture at the Mrs World pageant billed for November 4 in South Korea.
She said Mrs World organisers saw her profile through the Miss Commonwealth International. Some of her projects which made her eligible, she said, entailed donation of stationery to Ngarange Primary School.
The project was effected through Women Against Rape (WAR).
Sam-Hwera also owned Pashionbmag Modelling agency which worked with young people and fashion designers in Maun to promote talent in the Ngamiland region; since such talent was sought outside Maun in the past.
However, Sam-Hwera said she needed sponsors on board to make her trip possible.
She would the country on October 25 for South Korea.
She said the Department of Youth was not able to assist her since they assisted Miss Botswana and Miss Universe pageants only.
